The goal is to spark a passion for clinical research, help students see themselves as part of the scientific community, and give them the confidence to pursue a career that makes a real difference.
Research Runway Program (RRP)
Overview
A stepwise introduction to careers in clinical research:
- Online Clinical Research Training: earn a digital badge that introduces students to the vocabulary of clinical research, how clinical research is different from other types of research, the basic parts of clinical research, career paths, and preparing for a role in clinical research
- Career immersion experiences: hands-on experience and orientation to clinical research
- Career planning session: prepares students for next steps

Program Details
Designed to be completed within 4 months:
- Online introduction to Clinical Research (~15hrs)
- Career immersion
- Career consultation
The program is flexible to meet needs of the student. It includes informal meetings with CRPs in the field (Zoom Into Research events), tangible work products to be displayed by the student, and opportunities to attend various networking events.

Upon completion of Step 1, students will obtain a digital badge that may be displayed on their resume, LinkedIn, and other online platforms.
Students will learn:
- Essential terminology used in clinical research, including the ability to analyze clinical research protocols to identify key components and the responsibilities of various team members involved in clinical research
- Different types of biomedical research and the specific goals of clinical research
- Different career pathways of interest within the clinical research field based on personal interests, skills, and values
