TraCS is offering educational sessions for investigators to learn tips, tricks, and best practices for applying for TraCS pilot grants ranging from $2K - $100K. TraCS pilot grants are available for a wide range of clinical and translational research projects and are offered multiple times each year.
This session will include presentations by TraCS leadership and plenty of time for questions.

The Law & Your Community

Join UNC's Chief of Police David Perry and the NC TraCS Community and Stakeholder Engagement (CaSE) Program for this training session on DATES. The Law & Your Community is a nationally recognized hands-on interactive training designed to improve participant communications and interactions with law enforcement officers, as well as participant understanding of their rights and federal, state and local laws.
The program will address issues related to the role that citizens play in our representative democracy, law literacy, and strategies for law enforcement engagement.

Town Hall: New Investigational Drug Services SOPs

UNC Health Investigational Drug Services (IDS) has released detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to facilitate the standardization of practice and streamlining processes. The SOPs are intended to clarify practices and procedures of IDS so that they are communicating as clearly as possible with clinical trials partners at UNC.
In keeping with this goal of clear communication, UNC IDS is hosting a town hall to discuss the newest release of IDS SOPs and answer your questions. This virtual town hall will be led by IDS System Clinical Manager Andrew Thorne,PharmD, MS. Come learn how UNC IDS will continue to operate and help the UNC clinical research community moving forward.

TraCS Tales of Translation - Daniel C. Kemp, PhD, DABT

TraCS Tales of Translation features experienced scientists from academia and industry discussing the many twists and turns that are a part of research careers in the life sciences. Participating scientists will speak about their career decisions, pivot points, what translation means to them, and their advice for early stage researchers. This week's researcher is Daniel C. Kemp, PhD, DABT.
Kemp currently leads cross-functional teams delivering strategic design and development activities to Phase I/II drug development. Kemp has held positions of increasing responsibility in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and CRO sectors with more than 16 yrs experience in development of regulatory strategy and development plans with direct regulatory agency interaction.
There will be a Q&A session at the end.

Navigating NIH

As part of the faculty proposal development training program, NC State University has arranged for an online discussion with several NIEHS Program Officers that will cover how NIH is organized, walk through some scenarios for contacting Program Officers, and answer NIH questions. Given the broad interest in biomedical research across the state, this webinar is open to faculty from any college/university in North Carolina.
