NIH Common Forms Requirements: Biosketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support

This session provides an overview of changes to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant application requirements, including new Common Forms that will be required for due dates on or after January 25, 2026.

In particular, this presentation will focus on the Biosketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support forms, which will need to be completed using the SciENcv tool. It will include demonstrations of SciENcv, as well as ORCID iD creation and linking steps. The presentation aims to prepare researchers for the new NIH requirements by providing detailed instructions and resources to ensure compliance.

In this seminar Yun Li, PhD, will discuss meta-analyses. Those interested may want to register for both this seminar and our subsequent presentation on systematic reviews, but this seminar can also stand alone.

Leveling Up with Databricks in the SHIRE

New developments and guidance are coming to Databricks in the SHIRE. In this seminar, JP Powers, PhD, will highlight new enhancements and functionality that will become available to users, with a particular focus on Unity Catalog. He will also address some common pitfalls and points of confusion around working with Databricks in the SHIRE.

NC TraCS is hosting a 4-session, virtual Clinical Trialist Training Bootcamp beginning on August 3rd.

The goal of the bootcamp is to educate current and future site Principal Investigators on industry-sponsored clinical trials, including the landscape of clinical trials at UNC-Chapel Hill; how to evaluate study opportunities; elements of study start-up; investigator responsibilities; and overseeing a study throughout its life cycle. Investigators should leave the training with more confidence on how to conduct industry-sponsored clinical trials and manage research teams.

Sessions are held on Mondays via Zoom from 4:00-6:00 p.m. ET on each of the following dates:

The Indiana CTSI AI Workshop Series: Principles and Best Practices for using AI in Qualitative Research

In a 90-minute panel discussion, leaders in qualitative research, AI tools, and qualitative research using AI will discuss (1) anchoring values for qualitative researchers to hold on to as the field evolves in the AI era, (2) guiding principles for effectively training new qualitative researchers, and (3) ethical issues in qualitative research conducted in full or in part using AI tools.

This online training will provide an introduction to qualitative data analysis, focusing on content/thematic analysis. The session will cover the basics of qualitative data analysis and steps in the analysis process, including transcribing, memoing, codebook development and coding, exploring content areas or themes, and interpreting and communicating findings. Participants will have the opportunity to practice developing and applying codes. Note that we will not be demonstrating how to use qualitative data analysis software during this session.
