Recruitment & Retention
The Research Recruitment and Retention Program envisions a research community in which teams meet their accrual goals in a timely and cost-effective manner, launch feasible, participant-centered studies, and consider the recruitment and retention of participants during every stage of the study lifecycle.
We aim to integrate research into both clinical care and public perception, allowing it to function seamlessly alongside traditional care options while offering innovative and relevant opportunities to our patients and communities.
Our mission is to streamline the effort required for research teams to reach enrollment and retention goals by:
- fostering an environment and infrastructure in which research is accessible and appealing to patients and communities
- supporting study teams through the provision of guidance, resources, trainings, analysis, and integrated support
- facilitating thoughtful research planning, conduct, engagement, and optimization of individual studies

- Practice-Based Research: Practice-Based Research Networks (PBRNs) are groups of primary care clinicians and practices working together to answer community-based health care questions and translate research findings into practice.
- Patient and Community Engagement in Research (PaCER): facilitates engagement between academic, clinical, and community partners across the state to ensure that stakeholder input informs research; that research addresses the priorities and needs of the communities it serves; and that underrepresented populations are equitably involved in the research process.
