Get help engaging Latine communities in your research
Collaborate with the Inclusive Science Program Latine Community Review Board (LCRB) to ensure that your study materials resonate authentically with North Carolina's Latine communities.

The NC TraCS Latine Community Review Board (LCRB) is an advisory group of natively Spanish-speaking, culturally diverse, Latino/a/e North Carolinians. LCRB members collaborate with study teams to improve the linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance of study materials such as decision aids, scales, and recruitment scripts.
Why Collaborate?
Engage Latine communities early in your research for better-informed study design; higher rates of Latine enrollment, retention, and satisfaction; and research outcomes that better support health equity. The Latine CRB serves as a bridge to ensure your study materials are not only accurately translated, but also more culturally resonant, fostering increased study relevance and impact.
How do we collaborate?
The first step is to request a consultation with our Inclusive Science Program (ISP). During your consultation, a bilingual team member will discuss your goals and study materials so that we can prepare a scope of work.
Once your study materials are ready for LCRB review, we can begin the collaboration process! Our bilingual ISP team will:
- Finalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that summarizes our collaboration.
- Plan a group review session with LCRB members. Most group review sessions are scheduled 3 weeks in advance. A signed MOU is required before scheduling.
- Coordinate LCRB members' independent review of study materials, in advance of a group review session.
- Facilitate a live group review session in Spanish.
- Provide an English language report of LCRB members' key recommendations and suggested materials revisions.
Later, when you prepare to publish your study, ISP will coordinate LCRB members' review of any draft manuscript/report associated with the study design, protocol, or materials that they helped to develop. We will provide you with members' feedback and suggested revisions.
