Biostatistics Seminar Series: Choosing the right graphs and tables for your data
Fri. 2 Dec, 2022 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
There are a bewildering number of different kinds of graphs. There are conflicting recommendations (always show 0 on the axis, don't show 0 if the data don't include that value…). How do you know what's the right way to plot your data?
This talk will cover principles you can use to understand ways of presenting data and decide what's best for your situation.
Presenter: Jeff Laux, PhD
Research Associate, NC TraCS Biostatistics
Format: ~1 hour talk, 30 min Q&A
The NC TraCS Biostatistics Seminar Series provides more in-depth discussion of select biostatistical topics for clinical and translational researchers who have basic quantitative training in biostatistical methods. Join us this fall for seminars on power analysis & sample size planning, parameter interpretation in generalized mixed regression models, basic steps in questionnaire development, and choosing the right graphs and tables for your data.
