TraCS offers undergrads an introduction to careers in clinical research

The NC TraCS Research Runway Program (RRP) is 4-month stepwise introduction to careers in clinical research featuring online clinical research training; career immersion including hands-on experience; and a career planning session to prepare students for next steps. The program is designed to help undergraduate students discover the skills they already have that are valuable in clinical research. It's also valuable for clinical research faculty who want to recruit undergrads to their research programs.

Students will learn:

  • Essential terminology used in clinical research, including the ability to analyze clinical research protocols to identify key components and the responsibilities of various team members involved in clinical research
  • Different types of biomedical research and the specific goals of clinical research
  • Different career pathways of interest within the clinical research field based on personal interests, skills, and values
