The i2b2@UNC team completes major overhaul
We'd like to give a big shout-out to the Informatics and Data Science team members who worked tirelessly over the past year on keeping i2b2 available for use by the UNC clinical research community. The behind the scenes overhaul required by the CDW-H changeover was truly immense, and we are grateful for our team!
The changeover from Carolina Data Warehouse for Health (CDW-H) 2.0 to CDW-H 3.0 broke the code and query logic that populates i2b2, a safe-harbor "sandbox" that provides a de-identified view of UNC Health data for trial feasibility and exploration of potential study cohorts, on a weekly basis. The overhaul required learning a new data model while it was being built, and writing hundreds and hundreds of lines of new code.
