The UNC School of Medicine's Office of Research has released the latest issue of its bi-annual report that presents highlights from January – June 2022.

The School of Medicine had a very successful first half of 2022. At the end of the 2021-2022 budget year, the school's research portfolio surpassed $600 million in research funding for the first time—including $345 million from the National Institutes of Health.

Blossom Damania, PhD, Vice Dean for Research says, "This outstanding achievement is further evidence that despite the difficult past few years, our research has significantly grown, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, students and fellows."
