NC TraCS is located above the Beach Café in the Brinkhous-Bullitt Building on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The Institute combines the research strengths, resources and opportunities of UNC with their partner institutions: RTI International (RTI) and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (N.C. A&T).

Their mission is to accelerate the translation of research discoveries into improved patient care and public health. They seek to overcome barriers to translation by improving efficiency, training the research workforce and sharing successful research methods.
