September grant tip: Where to find sample grant applications in Dissemination & Implementation research

If you’re looking for guidance on developing grant applications related to dissemination and implementation (D&I) research, sample grant applications can provide important insights. Funded proposals demonstrate how D&I theories and frameworks are applied, which methods are appropriate, and the types of outcome measures that are important to the field. But where to find good (i.e., funded) sample applications?

On the Implementation Science Exchange, a repository of D&I resources, the D&I Methods Unit at NC TraCS has compiled funded D&I grants from investigators across the country. This repository of sample grants, which can be found on our site, represents diverse content areas, spans from 2011 to present date and will continue to be updated periodically. Funding sources represented by the repository include:

  • NIH Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health (DIRH) (R01s, R03s, R21s, R36s)
  • Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
  • The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)

Sample grants are organized by funding source and year and tagged with key words related to funding mechanism, setting, population, methodology, and more, to allow users to easily search content specific to their interests.

If you are an investigator with a funded grant in D&I, we would love to share your grant application on the Implementation Science Exchange Portal. Please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for more information.
