TraCS leadership and members among Creativity Hub semi-finalists

In October 2017, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR) launched Creativity Hubs in support of Chancellor Folt's Blueprint for Next. Creativity Hubs brings together investigators from across diverse disciplines, focusing the power of convergence to yield new knowledge and simulate innovation to solve emerging problems and shape the future.
At the time of launch, the program put out a call for pre-proposals and received 38 submissions representing 194 researchers within 35 departments across 10 schools. The OVCR has chosen seven semi-finalists who will go on to develop comprehensive proposals and publicly present their innovative approaches in March.
Finalists will be selected to receive up to $500,000 from the OVCR to execute their proposals over the next two years. Those who are not selected can take advantage of the resources within the Office of Research Development to further build their projects and connect to other funding opportunities.
