National Communication Association honors Noar

Seth Noar, PhD, earns Outstanding Health Communication Scholar Award for contributions to the field of health communication.

UNC Lineberger's Seth Noar, PhD, presented with the Outstanding Health Communication Scholar Award at the 102nd Convention of the National Communication Association in Philadelphia in November. The award recognizes a significant and original contribution, in the form of a monograph, book, and/or program of research, to the study and application of the field of health communication.

Jane Brown, professor emeritus who had a distinguished 35-year career in the UNC School of Media and Journalism nominated Noar, who is a professor at the School of Media and Journalism, for the award. Details about current and past awardees are available online.
