Participants Wanted for Probiotics Research Study

Influence of a Probiotic Supplement on Body Composition and Health in Shift-Working Nursing Staff (i.e. Nurses, Nursing Assistants)

  • Must be a female between 22 and 45 years of age
  • Must have been employed on a shift-working schedule (night, evening, or rotating) for at least six months
  • Healthy and disease-free
  • Not currently taking a probiotic supplement

Free assessment of body composition, bone mineral density, inflammatory markers, and insulin sensitivity. Study will involve an exercise walking test as well as six weeks of daily (probiotic or placebo) supplementation. Additionally, participants will be compensated for their time.

All testing will take place in Fetzer Hall on the main campus of UNC-Chapel Hill.
