Participate in Collaborative Research Groups through PCORnet

The National Patient Centered Clinical Research Network (PCORnet) invites the research community to submit Notices of Interest to form Collaborative Research Groups (CRGs). A CRG is a community organized to facilitate research on health condition(s) or population(s). The early pilot CRGs will serve to provide leadership, communication, data science, and other support to develop clinical research proposals including pragmatic trials, secondary data analyses and cohort studies.

The deadline for the Phase I Notices of Interest is July 15th and funding is available to support administrative costs of running the CRGs and to provide compensation to stakeholders who help inform the group's work. However, investigator time is not supported through this mechanism. The period of time between late July and September will be spent by researchers developing a more full proposal regarding the membership and goals of the Clinical Research Group.

The Mid-South Clinical Data Research Network, of which UNC-Chapel Hill is a part, will prepare Notices of Interest collaboratively. NC TraCS will lead coordination with the Mid-South CDRN. If you would like more information or are interested in being involved in the development of a CRG, please contact Dr. Tim Carey (This email address is being protected from spambots. Initial possible CRGs led by the Mid-South CDRN include, but are not limited to:

  1. Diabetes/Obesity
  2. Precision Medicine Initiative
  3. Health Statistics/Data Sciences
  4. Surgical Quality of Care and Outcomes Research
  5. Sickle Cell Disease
  6. Health Behavior/Health Education/Health Communication
  7. Infectious Disease
  8. Pharmacoepidemiology
