NC TraCS welcomes new COO

Andrea Carnegie, PhD

Andrea Carnegie, PhD joins NC TraCS as the new Chief Operating Officer on September 21. She currently serves in a similar role as Director of Administrative Operations (since 2011) at the University of Illinois at Chicago Center for Clinical and Translational Science, where she has worked since 2009.

From 2007 to 2009, she was the administrative manager of the Oregon Retinal Degeneration Center at the Casey Eye Institute, Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, where she worked directly in clinical trial design and operations.

She received a BS in Biology at Emory and a PhD in Pharmacology from Vanderbilt University as well as completing postdoctoral fellowships at Oregon Health & Science University. Her basic science work was on intracellular signaling mechanisms and biogenic amine transport in cardiac and neuronal cells.
