New strategy uses artificial intelligence to speed compound screenings
A team at NIH pioneered a strategy that combines artificial intelligence and high-throughput screening to identify selective chemical probes for multiple aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) proteins. ALDH proteins are important because they’re linked to cancer, obesity and some rare diseases. This new approach means less waiting and more progress, and all of the data sets are open to the public so other researchers can jump in and build on these findings.
