SPLENDOR-NC tree graphic

The primary objective of this request for applications is to facilitate the success of early career faculty and senior post-doctoral scholars, including those from diverse backgrounds, engaged in research in the fields of nutrition, obesity, and diabetes at the six participating institutions of SPLENDOR-NC: Duke University, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina Central University, UNC-Chapel Hill, Wake Forest University, and Winston-Salem State University.

The SPLENDOR-NC Pilot and Feasibility Program offers two levels of funding:

$10K Applications

  • $10K Career Development Awards: Will support publication charges, travel, coursework, or training.
  • $10K Research awards: Will support purchasing equipment, lab supplies, and small pilot projects.

$50K Applications

  • Pilot awards up to $50K will enable the collection of preliminary data to support extramural grant applications.

To support their projects, investigators are strongly encouraged to use one or more of the services offered by the UNC NORC cores and/or the NCDRC cores. SPLENDOR-NC welcomes applications intended to generate pilot data that will address reviewers’ comments from recently scored grants.
