SPLENDOR-NC Scholar Program accepting applications for nutrition, obesity, and/or diabetes research

The SPLENDOR-NC Scholar Program supports and facilitates the success of diverse faculty engaged in research in the fields of nutrition, obesity and/or diabetes. These diseases disproportionately impact populations of color. Addressing these disparities is central to the mission of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).

Application Guidelines

Complete applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM ET on Friday, March 22, 2024, using the online form. Applications must include an NIH-style biosketch and a one-page personal statement. Please use Arial 11pt font and 0.5″ margins.

The personal statement must include:

  1. Your research interests (250 words)
  2. Short- and long-term career goals (250-words)
  3. What you would like to get out of the Scholar Program, including your goals for the mentorship you will receive as part of the program (250 words)

Eligibility

  • Senior post-doctoral fellows or assistant professors in either fixed-term or tenure-track positions at one of the six partnering institutions, including those from groups nationally underrepresented in biomedical and behavioral research as defined by the NIH.
  • A focus on advancing a research career in the area of nutrition, obesity, diabetes, and/or related research.
