UNC School of Medicine Ranks High in ‘Best Grad School’ Report

CHAPEL HILL, NC – The University of North Carolina School of Medicine is ranked 5^th in the country for primary care education and tied for 25^th for research (6^th among public universities) as a part of U.S. News & World Report's 2023 edition of "America's Best Graduate Schools."

The School of Medicine ranks 3^rd in family medicine, 25^th in internal medicine (6^th among public schools), and 38^th in biomedical engineering, a joint department with NC State University.

U.S. News ranks business, education, engineering, law, nursing and medicine programs annually, but various disciplines and specialties within each category are ranked periodically, not every year, including the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, which ranked 1^st in the country two years ago. UNC-Chapel Hill ranks high in several other categories, including the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, which ranked 2nd overall (1^st among public universities); Biostatistics ranked 5^th; the School of Nursing Master's Programs tied for 8^th and its DNP programs ranked 14^th.
