A Tale of Two CABs (Community Advisory Boards)

In this video presentation, UNC Lineberger and NC TraCS compare their Community Advisory Board (CAB) development processes, sharing key takeaways and lessons learned. Although the CABs have their own distinct purposes and goals, they each engage a diverse and representative group of members across North Carolina and are uniquely positioned to guide programming, operations, and priorities at the institutional level.

Lineberger and TraCS provide examples of how their collaboration informed key components of CAB planning, recruitment, training, and onboarding. CAB members reflect on their experiences and discuss how each of their groups defined their own priorities, aims, and activities. This presentation highlights the importance of engaging community members as equal partners in CAB development.
