Rahima Benhabbour, PhD, MSc

Capitol B Creative Studio's Innovation Roadtrip series shines a spotlight on the people and places moving innovation forward in North Carolina.

Rahima Benhabbour, MSc, PhD, an assistant professor of biomedical engineering at Carolina has been featured in episode 2—highlighting her startup company AnelleO.

AnelleO is developing a long-acting progesterone IVR while also building a pipeline of other IVR-based therapies for cancer, HIV, orphan diseases and contraception. As a growing startup, AnelleO was able to tap into UNC resources including Innovate Carolina's Patent Landscaping and Market Research Service, the Eshelman Institute for Innovation, the Office of Technology Commercialization, KickStart Venture Services and the Blackstone Entrepreneurs Network.

Benhabbour was a TraCS KL2 scholar, a program that provides training and develops junior investigators to conduct interdisciplinary translational research.
