Submit your project idea to address roadblocks in clinical and translational science

In January 2022, NC TraCS will submit our Institute's next funding renewal application to the NIH.
As part of our response to the CTSA funding announcement, NC TraCS can propose and support translational science research projects that develop new methods that address translational barriers, ranging from widely recognized national issues, to local or regional problems.
We are seeking specific project ideas that will address a truly significant roadblock in clinical and translational science (CTS) for consideration of inclusion of the project in the CTSA application. Projects can range between $125K and $250K a year for up to 3 years.
Examples could include:
- Developing and testing new tools for engagement of underserved populations in clinical research
- Conducting hypothesis-driven observational or interventional studies to increase participation in clinical research trials
- Establishing evidence-based interventions and/or tools used to remedy gaps or differences observed among groups in health outcomes to ultimately achieve health equity
The projects must be focused on clinical and translational science (CTS) rather than on basic discovery research. Research project(s) should not only address a translational research question in a particular disease or intervention development/dissemination context, but also provide generalizable CTS innovations or insights that can be applied to other translational research projects and thereby increase the overall efficiency or effectiveness of translation.
If you have an idea for a specific project, please complete the short submission form:
