Corporate Partnering Opportunities Available on AdvanTX Portal

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research recently launched AdvanTx: The UNC Advanced Therapeutics Initiative, a centralized resource to support faculty development of therapeutic-related research and commercialization projects. As part of their ongoing development of programs to support researchers under the AdvanTx initiative, information on corporate collaborative opportunities is now available on the AdvanTx web portal.

Current opportunities include:

  • Pfizer's Centers for Therapeutic Innovation (CTI) is requesting proposals for novel therapeutic targets with application across the company's therapeutic areas: oncology, internal medicine, inflammation & immunology, and rare disease. Collaboration with CTI provides access to Pfizer's research and development strengths, resources, and capabilities.
Deadline for submission is June 28, 2021.
  • Merck is offering a series of research grants to stimulate innovative research in challenging areas of future importance. The 2021 Research Grants provide support in a variety of scientific areas including drug discovery, nanoparticle for nucleic acid delivery, digital innovation, and organoids.
Deadline for submission is August 31, 2021.

Those who are interested in these opportunities are encouraged to reach out to the AdvanTX team, a pan-campus group of therapeutics and innovation translation experts, for assistance with their proposals. The team can assist with the development of the required submissions that outline scientific background and research synopsis of proposed projects.

Information on these opportunities, as well as others, can be found on the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research's AdvanTX: UNC Advance Therapeutics Initiative portal. The AdvanTx team will continue to update opportunities as they arise. If you have any questions, the team can be contacted directly at This email address is being protected from spambots.
