NC State University ASSIST Center seeking clinical collaborators for wearable/point-of care platform devices

CTSA partner NC State has approached NC TraCS for help identifying interesting potential clinical collaborators to work with their NSF-funded ASSIST Center on an NIH National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) Biomedical Technology Resource Center grant application (P41). ASSIST is developing technologies that enable exposure related respiratory and cardiac health management, glycemic index management, and medication compliance, through continuous monitoring of parameters including: ECG, heart rate, heart rate variability, arterial oxygen saturation, estimation of blood pressure, surface biomarkers (e.g. lactate in sweat), and environmental exposures such as ambient ozone. They are looking to identify additional use cases to serve as “Collaborative & Service Projects” in 4 technology R&D project areas:

  1. Physiological, biochemical and environmental sensors for integrated health sensing
  2. Intelligent energy management for improving patient compliance and comfort
  3. Platform Integration into wearable/point of care prototypes
  4. Predictive Decision Making through Data Management and Analytics

  • What is the clinical need or population you would like to apply this platform towards?
  • What is the research question(s) you would like to answer with this platform?
  • Does your use case provide a unique need or interesting challenge for one or more of the four Technology R&D projects described?

ASSIST would like to hear from potential collaborators by January 31.
