Translational Science Application Development (AppDev)
TraCS AppDev provides researchers with resources, through consultations and also developer time, to build initial versions of applications and help them move from concept to product.
We provide services and expertise to support technological needs in the realm of translational and clinical research. The team shares expertise across database design, web application development, data security, digital accessibility, and technical infrastructure to support a wide range of projects. Coupled with the ability to consult and build novel tools, the AppDev program is a resource on federal, state, and institutional policies and requirements that apply to software and IT projects.
Our services include:
Developer effort to design and build an initial product (prototypes, proof of concept, minimum viable product)
Consultation on system design and feasibility as it pertains to various technology and data policies and laws
Input on best practices in the implementation or building of an application or software tool
Custom REDCap programming and support (beyond services already provided by the REDCap@UNC service)
Support for TraCS Pilot projects that require programmer effort
