NCATS issues invitation to virtual strategic planning roundtable discussions

NCATS logo The NCATS Strategic Plan for 2024-2029 will guide the center in working toward the vision of NCATS Director Joni L. Rutter, PhD, of more treatments for all people more quickly, and NCATS' bold goals in meaningful and achievable ways to move the field of translational science forward.

As part of the development process, NCATS would like to hear from their stakeholders (including patients and members of the health advocacy community; basic, translational and clinical scientists at universities and research institutions; health care providers; biotechnology, venture capital and pharmaceutical industry members; colleagues at other NIH institutes, centers and offices; partners at other government agencies; policymakers; and the public).

Make your voice heard by attending one of their virtual strategic planning roundtable discussions taking place on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, May 9, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. EDT
  • Wednesday, May 10, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. EDT

register

Each roundtable will begin with a 30-minute presentation. Dr. Rutter will give an overview of her vision for NCATS and information on the strategic plan.

The discussion of strategic planning efforts will continue in breakout groups. There will be two breakout sessions during each roundtable to encourage stakeholders to offer their perspective in more than one area. Participants will attend a discussion of their choice about one of the four translational science areas: Research, Training and Education, Patient and Community Engagement, and DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility). NCATS' Strategic Planning Team will ask the same set of questions to each breakout group.
