Semblie

Do you work on a project that involves health education, interventions, or development of digital materials?

The Inclusive Science Program(ISP) has launched a tool called Semblie that can be used to build, deliver, and track digital health content such as health promotion interventions, decision aids, or educational information. We are actively seeking people to serve as early users. The use of Semblie is free to UNC-Chapel Hill faculty, staff, and students.

Semblie can be used for many different purposes, including:

  • Rapid prototyping and group collaboration to build digital content
  • Building digital interventions that seek to provide education content, prompt health behavior change, or promote informed decision making
  • Delivering tailored and responsive information to pre-defined audience segments such as research participants, community members, or other stakeholders
  • Collecting process or outcome data while users are interacting with the digital content to measure engagement, intentions, or behavioral status.

If you need funding to incorporate Semblie into a project, we encourage you to apply for one of the $2K pilot grants offered by the NC TraCS Institute. These grants are designed to assist researchers in implementing a proposed study, or to move a research project forward, by providing rapid access to funds that will support almost any aspect of promising and innovative research. The Inclusive Science Program is particularly interested in applications that propose to use Semblie to engage under-represented populations in research. If you choose to apply for a 2K grant, our team is available to consult with you on development of a 2K grant application and/or your proposed use of Semblie.
