As of September 10, 2019, the UNC-Chapel Hill Office of Human Research Ethics (OHRE) has made several updates to IRBIS and their SOPs. The changes are as follows:

  • All multi-site, industry sponsored clinical trials should utilize a commercial IRB to facilitate faster study start-up, focus internal resources on investigator initiated and/or NIH funded work, and facilitate effective review for the research community.
  • The UNC-Chapel Hill IRB will now offer submission types for initial applications to improve overall submission efficiency.
  • UNC-Chapel Hill IRB Boards have been restructured.
  • Additional Updates:

    • Question 5.1 Updates
    • NHSR Department approval requirement removal
    • Submit Button and RAMSeS Import Visual Timer change
    • Ability to delete NSI attachments during response to stipulations
    • sIRB approved documents display update
