TraCS Director, affiliated faculty and researchers featured in video produced for the ADA scientific conference

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) teamed up to produce a video that highlights PCORI-funded research, including the MONITOR Trial and Rethink the Strip, as well as PCORnet, the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network.

The video features Katrina Donahue, MD, MPH, co-Director of the North Carolina Network Consortium and a faculty lead with the TraCS Community and Stakeholder Engagement (CaSE) Program, and Laura Young, MD, PhD, associate professor in the department of medicine, discussing the findings of their PCORI-funded research project, the MONITOR Trial.

Jennifer Leeman, DrPH, MDiv, associate professor in the School of Nursing and a faculty expert with the TraCS CaSE Program, is also featured in the video discussing Rethink the Strip, a project funded by PCORI to move the MONITOR Trial findings into practice.

John Buse, MD, PhD, Co-PI and Director of NC TraCS, highlights how useful PCORnet has been for clinical research.

The video was featured at the ADA 79th Scientific Sessions conference. While focused on diabetes research, this video is a great introduction to comparative effectiveness research and the usefulness of clinical data research networks.
