Andrew initially became interested in bioentrepreneurship during graduate school, as an alternative to traditional career paths. Subsequently he co-founded the 501(c)3 non-profit Carolina Student Biotechnology Network, helping students to learn more about career alternatives focused on entrepreneurship.

Later in his schooling, he interned at UNC’s Office of Technology Development and co-authored a paper on entrepreneurship education. Prior to graduate school, Andrew was a fellow at the FDA’s National Center for Toxicological Research and Whitney Laboratory, University of Florida.
