Description

The Children’s Research Institute Lecture Series encourages interaction between researchers investigating childhood diseases, and stimulates new research through exposure to cutting-edge, ongoing work.

Presented by : Sue Tolleson-Rinehart, PhD
Associate Chair of Faculty Development
Department of Pediatrics

Tolleson-Rinehart’s primary research interests are in health politics and health policy as well as mentoring junior faculty, trainees, and students. Following the University of California’s system-wide decision to cancel subscriptions to Elsevier among its 10 campuses, the debate surrounding academic journal publishing—and its cost—has come sharply into focus for many universities. Please join Sue Tolleson-Rinehart for a talk on the “open access wars” and what they mean for academic publishing at large.
