The TraCS Institute announces a 1-week course titled “Introduction to Study Design and Strategies for Data Analysis.” This course is intended as an introduction to statistical terms, methodologies and analysis strategies most commonly used in clinical/translational research. The course will also include two sessions in which participants will discuss peer-reviewed literature and learn to evaluate the choice of study design and analysis plan. The goal is that participants will understand the necessary vocabulary and fundamental concepts they can then use to communicate with biostatisticians.

The course will be held July 16-20, 2018 from 8 am – 12 pm each day in Bioinformatics 1131.

Course content:
1. Basic study designs used in clinical/translational research
2. Overview of Statistical methodology- definitions and examples
3. Introduction to analysis strategies- which statistical methods are appropriate for various types of data
