The University Collaboration Office at RTI International is pleased to announce a call for Expressions of Interest for the 2024-25 RTI University Scholars Program. Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are accepted through January 25, 2024, 11:59 p.m. EST.

Since 2014, the RTI University Scholars Program provides partial financial support for senior academic researchers to spend scholarly leave time at RTI to collaborate with RTI experts. The program, administered by the University Collaboration Office, is designed to drive growth, foster collaboration, build scientific stature, and develop opportunities for externally funded joint projects.

The program is open to faculty from the University of North Carolina's 16 university campuses and Duke University. Applicants are encouraged to partner with RTI staff to co-create a collaborative research project.

This year's cycle prioritizes:

  • Climate change, environmental justice, and energy
  • Data modernization and data science
  • Global health security and pandemic preparedness
  • Agriculture, food security, and nutrition

Deadline to submit Expression of Interest (Phase I): Thursday, January 25, 2024 by 11:59 p.m. (ET)
Notification to all applicants: Thursday, February 22, 2024
Deadline for all invited applicants to submit full proposals: Wednesday, March 27, 2024 by 11:59 p.m. (ET)
Notification to applicants who submitted Full Proposals: Friday, April 26, 2024
