Qualitative Data Analysis Workshop

Wed. 7 Oct, 2026 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

In this session, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and seek feedback on their qualitative analysis from facilitators and other attendees. To attend, participants must be working on a qualitative data analysis project and can seek feedback on any step in the process (e.g., coding; creating matrices, diagrams, or other products; developing categories or themes; summarizing data). They also must have attended an NC TraCS Introduction to Qualitative Data Analysis training (on September 30 or a previous session or recording).

This event is part of the NC TraCS Qualitative Research Training Series.

Please note: We will not be presenting information about qualitative analysis in this session; instead, we will ask participants to share where they are in their analysis process, ask questions about their analyses, and collectively discuss strategies for moving our analyses forward. This event will not be recorded.

OTC Seminar Series: Patent Considerations for AI Inventions

Thu. 8 Oct, 2026 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join Innovate Carolina at the Rizzo Center for an in-person seminar on patent considerations for artificial intelligence inventions featuring Greg Hunt, Managing Shareholder of Jenkins, Taylor & Hunt. As artificial intelligence continues to reshape research, product development, and commercialization across disciplines, understanding how to protect AI-related innovations has become increasingly important. In this session, Hunt will share practical guidance on key patent issues that arise when developing and commercializing AI inventions, including how patent strategy can support innovation, investment, and long-term business growth.

Hunt leads the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Practice Group at Jenkins, Taylor & Hunt and has more than 25 years of experience practicing before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He advises corporate and university clients on patent opinion preparation, portfolio management, intellectual property due diligence, and patent prosecution in areas including artificial intelligence, computer networking, cloud computing, blockchain, computer vision, and medical devices. He is also a frequent lecturer on patent protection for computer software and AI inventions.

Whether you are a faculty researcher, student innovator, or entrepreneur working with AI-enabled technologies, this session will offer timely insight into the patent landscape and the considerations that can help shape a strong commercialization strategy.
