UNC Health Biomedical Engineering

All patient care equipment in the CTRC is maintained by UNC Health's Biomedical Engineering Department. Preventative Maintenance (PMs) are completed on an annual (i.e. automatic electronic blood pressure monitor, weight scales) or semi-annual basis (centrifuges) depending on the type of the equipment.

Prior to accessing this folder, you will need to know the facility tag number (see: CTRC Equipment Tag Numbers (pdf)) which is located on the outside of the equipment and the date(s) of service that need to be downloaded. PMs are typically completed on an annual basis in September and on a semi-annual basis in September and March. Any newly purchased equipment may be placed on a different schedule depending on the month that it was purchased.

If a PM is not listed for the date(s) that are needed, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Note: The infusion pumps are not CTRC-owned equipment; contact Biomedical Engineering at UNC Medical Center at 984-974-0180 to obtain these documents.

Minus80 Monitoring

The Serial Processing & Storage Facility, or room 1035, houses a freezer set at -80°C, another at -20°C, and a refrigerator for specimens. Additionally, a backup -80°C and -20°C freezer is situated in the Storage Room, or room 1019. The backup units in room 1019 are used to store specimens exclusively during maintenance or defrosting of the freezers in room 1035.

All specimen freezer and refrigerator units in the CTRC are monitored by Minus80 Monitoring which gives the CTRC the ability to provide monthly temperature reports. The temperature reports will not be available until the 15th of the month following the month needed (i.e. October 15th for September).

Prior to accessing this folder, you will need to know the name of the unit (i.e. CTRC -80 TSX Thermo Room 1035), the room number where the unit is located, and the month/year you need to download. If a report is not listed, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or This email address is being protected from spambots.
