2024 FASEB conference open for registration

B Vitamins and One-Carbon Metabolism

August 11, 2024 - August 16, 2024

For over 35 years, the FASEB conference has been a premier venue for scientists and clinicians in biological and biomedical research to share the latest research advances, exchange ideas, and generate new collaborations. This year’s meeting will assemble scientists and clinicians with distinct and complementary backgrounds to present, discuss, and evaluate the latest developments in basic, public health, clinical, and applied research in the field of B-vitamins and one-carbon metabolism with the goal to advance medical and public health knowledge.

Location and Venue

Niagara Falls Convention Center
101 Old Falls Street, Niagara Falls, NY

Keynote Speakers

Edward Quadros, PhD, State University of New York (SUNY)
Ruma Banerjee, PhD, University of Michigan Medical Center

Program Topics

  • B-Vitamins deficiencies worldwide: epidemiology and relationships with malabsorption and infectious/chronic diseases
  • The influence of the maternal and paternal status in B-Vitamins on fetal and post-natal health issues
  • B-Vitamins supplementation and/or fortification and bioavailability: experimental and population-based evidence of the two sides of the medal
  • B-Vitamins and the one-carbon metabolism: experimental and population-based evidence of the cross-talk with epigenomics in health and disease
  • Lessons from cell and animal models of the one-carbon and B-Vitamins metabolism
  • The one-carbon and B-Vitamins metabolism in neurodevelopmental, neurological and psychiatric disorders
  • New insights into the diagnosis, pathophysiology and treatment of inherited metabolic disorders of one-carbon and B-Vitamins metabolism
  • B-Vitamins and One-Carbon metabolism in cancer pathophysiology and treatment

Workshops

A “Meet the Experts” session: discussing technical and intellectual skills in basic, clinical, and public health research. A special “Career Development Workshop” will provide strategies for early career investigators in establishing themselves as independent investigators, strategies for securing grants and avoiding pitfalls.
